DESCRIPTION

Born on the shore and worn by shore fishermen, the Chalutier has protected against wind, rain, and long days outdoors for generations. Reinterpreted by Béton Ciré since 2014, it moves effortlessly from the coastline to the city without losing its original purpose.
Its silhouette is instantly recognizable: a structured crown, wide brims, and an extended back that naturally protects the neck. The adjustable cord, finished with a Viridis insert, ensures a secure fit even when the wind picks up.
Made in Europe from seasonally adapted materials, it is a unisex piece designed to last, in all weather.

FABRIC AND CRAFT

Inspired by the Breton sailor's oilskin, this waxed cotton is woven and coated using a traditional technique that gives it its water-repellent properties. Handcrafted in our European workshops, it develops a unique patina over time. Occasional care is enough to maintain its water-repellency year after year.
WHEN AND HOW TO WEAR IT?

• Wide brim to wear up at the front or down for maximum protection.
• The extended back brim shields the neck from rain or sun.
• Pairs perfectly with a trench, parka, or rain coat.
CARE & REPAIR

Clean with a damp sponge only.
Never machine wash, do not wring.
Re-wax every 2-3 years to maintain water-repellency.
